Today is my second birthday 🥳🥳
I consider having three birthdays:
🎉 The first was when I was born.
🎉🎉🎉 The third was in 2020, when I came across a revolutionary understanding of how the mind works. That shifted my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
🎉🎉 The second was 26 years ago, on September 24th, 1999, when I crashed this car in the Black Forest. The car flipped several times, and I walked out without a scratch.
That crash taught me something I still carry with me today: 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲, and 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲. I try to remind myself daily (and I forget often and get caught up in life).
I had taken a wrong turn on the way to a concert. When I realized it, I was late and felt under pressure. In that state, I pushed too hard, made a driving mistake—and the car flipped several times. Miraculously, it hit neither tree nor other cars, and I was lucky to survive.
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲. Sometimes in a single instant. More commonly slowly, from the inside out. Our bodies are not designed to run on adrenaline all the time. Yet we so often misuse our minds as if every situation were life-or-death.
That’s why my “third birthday” matters so much to me. Discovering how the mind really works and who we really are at the core gave me a baseline level of happiness, lightness, and gratitude than I couldn’t imagine—while also enhancing my courage, confidence and performance like never before.
So here’s my birthday wish:
Take one conscious breath.
Feel the aliveness in you.
Drop your tension, focus on gratitude.
Spread love to someone today.

Have blessed day!
